Caleb Keeton  has signed a letter of intent to play football at Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky.  Caleb was named to the All-state team in football two years in a row and has set numerous records while kicking at Waynesville.

Katelyn Danner – Edward Jones Scholar Athlete of the month of December.  Katelyn Danner was named the Edward Jones scholar - athlete of the for her contributions to the Waynesville Girls Basketball team.  Kate scored 37 points and tied a school record 7 three point goals vs Preble Shawnee.  Kate also maintains a 3.4 G.P A.

Two WCCC students attended the SkillsUSA Regional Officer Training Leadership Conference in Washington DC recently. Gade Abrams, Waynesville, SW Region Historian and a senior in the Electricity program, placed first in Individual Prepared Speech and also shared a first place award in Opening and Closing Ceremony with a team that included Cosmetology senior and SW Region President Hannah Bergeron, Springboro.

Gade plans to pursue additional training in the electrical field after graduation. He is currently working with his instructor, Rick Centers, on early job placement for second semester. Hannah plans to work in the cosmetology field while pursuing further education in theater arts. She is interested in the costuming, hair and makeup areas in theater.

The students were accompanied by WCCC Instructor Virgil Neal, who serves as a state advisor for SkillsUSA. While in Washington, the students talked about CTE opportunities with senators and representatives, and received leadership training from national SkillsUSA staff. 

Career Day 2012 took place the morning of Friday January 20, 2012.  There were 19 different  careers represented this year.  Student visited 4 career presentations and learned about  job skills  and education required.

 If you need assistance with completing a FAFSA form this event is extremely helpful in answering all of your questions.  Representatives from area colleges will sit with you and help you fill  out your FAFSA form. Post Secondary Educational Option meeting is set for Thursday, February 16th at 7pm in the cafeteria. 
If you are a ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade student, the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program provides you with an opportunity to take classes at eligible post-secondary institutions. These institutions include community colleges, post-secondary vocational technical institutions, state universities, and many private colleges and universities.

This presentation is open to all students and parents in the district.  Nikki  Dippold will be here to go over the college financial aid process. She will also go over in detail the FAFSA form and answer your specific questions Regarding the financial aid process. She will also cover all types of financial aid loans and outside scholarship information. The meeting will start at 7pm
  and will be in the HS Media Center.
