Gifted Services
Mary Franzosa
Gifted Coordinator
Welcome to Waynesville Gifted Services
The Gifted Services Department supports the Waynesville Local Schools mission of providing a meaningful, rigorous curriculum to students identified as gifted.
Gifted Identification
In Ohio, gifted students are defined as students “who perform or show potential for performing at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared to others of their age, experience, or environment”
Any student may be referred for testing, for possible gifted identification, by a parent or teacher.
Children can be identified as gifted in the following areas: superior cognitive ability, specific academic ability in reading/writing, mathematics, science and social studies, creative thinking ability, and visual or performing arts.
To refer a child for testing for gifted identification, please download the following form and send to Dr. Mary Franzosa, WLS, 659 Dayton Rd., Waynesville, 45068
