Waynesville Middle School Honors Mrs. Stubbs!

On Tuesday evening, May 24th, the middle school staff met for an informal gathering to say farewell to Mrs. Joy Stubbs as the sixth grade social studies teacher.  After 19 years of working with Waynesville students, Mrs. Stubbs has decided it is time to move on in life and pursue other interests.  Mrs. Stubbs’ impact has been felt far and wide by the many students she has helped along the way.  Her love of geography, our democratic society, and her strong desire to see students become better thinkers as well as citizens has made Mrs. Stubbs a valuable member of the sixth grade team.  In addition to her classroom work, Mrs. Stubbs also served many sixth graders over the years by helping them stay more organized at school.  We all know this is an invaluable skill to master and we are grateful for Mrs. Stubbs and the caring way in which she has helped our students.  Everyone at WMS will miss her next year, but we wish her well in her new endeavors.  Mrs. Stubbs truly embodies the “heartbeat” of Waynesville and the teaching profession.  Thank you Mrs. Stubbs for your years of service, we will miss you!
