WHS Career Day 2012

Career Day 2012 took place the morning of Friday January 20, 2012.  There were 19 different  careers represented this year.  Student visited 4 career presentations and learned about  job skills  and education required. In addition students asked questions about salary and job outlook.  Presenters encouraged the importance of taking high school education serious and connected  high school success to acceptance in the post-secondary setting whether it be a 2 or 4 year college and or trade school/ training.   Several past graduates returned to Waynesville High School to share their  career path and schooling history.  Past Graduates included Josh Bumgardener (Athletic Trainer), Scott Spires (Commercial Pilot), John Lewis (Computer Technician), Cosmetologist (Ali Measel Dodge), Tiffany Scherer (EMT), Paul Scherer (Fire Chief),  Denise Richmond (ER Nurse), Kirstin Felumlee (Massage Therapist), Jodee Ball (Photographer), Thea Bostwick (Sales Marketing), and Jenny Barton (Social Worker).  Other presenters included Chad Combs (Chiropractor), Dr. Deanna Allgeyer (Physician), Alicia VonVille (Mental Health Therapist), Rick Centers (Electrician), Dan Manley (Financial Manager),  Deon Gephart (HVAC), Sgt. Paul Lezotte (Ohio State Patrol Officer) Anne Frank ( Physical Therapist), and Sherry Johnson (Speech Therapist). Thank you to all  for making Career Day 2012 a huge success.
