WHS Media Center Reorganized and New Computer Lab added in 2010-11

Waynesville High School students welcomed the new school year with a new Mac computer lab and a reorganized media center. The new lab will be used for the Digital Media Arts Academy with students studying graphic design, digital photography, animation, web design, and video/audio production in a Mac laboratory environment. The reorganized media center now houses 48 computers that were already in use in the building but now will be centrally located for teachers and students to use throughout the day. In addition, the media center has converted a small meeting room into the new College and Career resource center. The C&C resource center will open on September 17th with the 2nd annual College Day at WHS. The center will be a tremendous asset for students and parents when planning next steps after graduation. The new lab was purchased with grant and permanent improvement dollars with no cost to the general fund.
