Weekly School Bus Safety Tip

School bus safety is everyone’s responsibility. A team effort is required by transportation and district personnel as well as parents and students to ensure that each child travels to and from school safely each day. Wayne Local Schools will communicate each week a school bus safety tip to assist parents and students in understanding their role in helping our transportation system.

-This Weeks Safety Tip-

Never walk behind the school bus. The bus driver cannot see you there
and it is a danger zone. When crossing in front of the school bus, stay
out of the danger zone at all times. It is about ten feet from the bus
or three giant steps. The bus driver should be able to see you and you
should be able to see the bus driver. If you drop something, tell the
bus driver before going to retrieve the item.
