Credit Flexibility/Educational Option

2019-2020 Credit Flex Application - Note: Due Date May 10, 2019

The board recognizes that an effective educational program is one that provides opportunities for students to customize aspects of their learning around their respective needs and interests.  Credit flexibility is one method to motivate and increase student learning by allowing access to more resources, customization around individual student needs and the use of multiple measures of learning. For identified gifted students, the Educational Option policy is another way of allowing this customization. A copy of both guidelines and application processes may be obtained in the high school office.

High school students may take Pre-Engineering: a Project Lead The Way program, right here at WHS. Junior High students may take Gateway to Technology programs to explore STEM career options. Students have the ability to earn college credits and industry certifications through Career Technical Education programs, gaining advantages in the job market and saving on the high cost of college tuition. Ask your counselor about these options, visit WCCC during Eighth-Grade Expo and Sophomore Showcase days, and check out the website at www.MyWCCC.org.
