Tennis: These Girls Were Downright “SMASHING”!

League Tournament Results!

This past Tuesday, September 26th, the Varsity Girls Tennis Team represented Waynesville very well, on and off the court. Each and every one of these girls showed great pride in themselves and our school as they played through the incredible heat on Tuesday. Each girl played 3 heartfelt matches, revealing their desire to win individually as well as collaboratively within the doubles matches.

Korryn Bradley- Do to injury, was unable to play, but supported her teammates all day and modeled great team spirit as she eagerly helped and motivated each and every person.

Roslynn Papetti- First Singles, won 2 out of the 3 matches for the day, placing 5th in the league.

Katelyn Abney- Second Singles, won 2 out of 3 matches for the day, placing 4th in the league.

Morgan Achard/ Hannah Selk- First Doubles Partners- won 1 out of 3 matches, placing 6th in the league.

Jade Buckland/ Emery Siders- Second Doubles Partners- won 2 out of 3 matches for the day, placing 5th in the league.

Varsity Girls Tennis: A sensational Senior Night!

The girls’ varsity tennis team hosted the Lebanon Warriors Monday night, 9/18/17. This was our senior night for two seniors: Morgan Achard and Roslynn Papetti. These two young ladies as well as their teammates played a wonderful match against the warriors. Playing first singles- Roslynn Papetti, and second singles- Katelyn Abney both bringing home wins for Waynesville. Our two doubles teams- Morgan Achard/ Hannah Selk, Jade Buckland/ Emery Siders, both these doubles teams played extremely hard, falling short to a tough loss to the warriors. I am very proud of each and every one of these young ladies.

We would also like to recognize our amazing parents. The families provided a delicious nacho bar and dessert table for both teams to eat and socialize after the match. It was wonderful to see the both teams of girls, and parents enjoying food and fun.

Congratulations to our two seniors and the entire tennis team. Go Spartans!
