Professional Biography

Patrick Dubbs is an experienced public school leader and advocate (35 years) driven by high expectations. Patrick believes developing the whole child is our primary focus; “producing confident individuals with strong communication abilities and adaptive skills needed to be future ready in the career pursuit of their choice.” Patrick is currently in his 12th year as Superintendent of Wayne Local Schools. Over the past decade, Waynesville Schools has been recognized as an exemplary high performance school district:

  • One of only 28 Ohio school districts to receive an overall "A" letter grade in 2018
  • U. S. Department of Education – Washington D. C.: “National Blue Ribbon School”

  • AP College Board – Expanded commitment to advanced placement courses: Named on the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll in United States and Canada

  • Southern Regional Educational Board – Atlanta, Georgia: “Pace setting, high achievement schools”

Superintendent Dubbs is a Jennings Scholar, past participant in the Ohio School Leadership Institute and received Southwest Ohio Superintendent of the Year recognition. Wayne Local Schools is currently engaged in a new district facilities project.

Superintendent Dubbs and Waynesville are actively a part of our regional business advisory council. Working with leaders to form partnerships between schools, higher education and employers to build a better workforce. The council is working with its base of business leaders to target the region’s in-demand industries. To better understand work force development, Patrick has toured in Germany with the German Transatlantic Outreach Program focusing on apprenticeships. This past school year Superintendent Dubbs began work with Pathways to Prosperity; the network was started by the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Jobs for the Future in order to transform our workforce and education systems. Recently a delegation from the Dayton region attended the Pathways to Prosperity Network’s Spring Institute in Chicago.
