Franklin B. Walter Scholarship Recipient - 2024 - Elizabeth Nichols!

The Warren County ESC hosted their annual student recognition program for scholarship recipients and school district personnel today.  During this ceremony, one (1) senior student from each participating school district in Warren County is recognized as a Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award winner, with one (1) overall winner chosen from the group.  Elizabeth Nichols was selected as the 2024 Waynesville High School winner! 
 
The award is named after Dr. Franklin B. Walter, who served as State Superintendent from 1977 – 1991.  He received numerous honors and earned the respect and admiration of educators nationwide.  His integrity, leadership, optimism, and commitment to education served as an example for all. 

Elizabeth received a $500 scholarship that is given to one student from each Warren County school district to recognize superior academic achievement.

The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award also recognizes the teachers those students have chosen as having a positive impact in their lives.   Elizabeth recognized Waynesville High School teacher Patrick Hardin.
