Waynesville High School Ranks Among Top 12% Nationally
Waynesville High School has earned recognition as one of the top 12% of public high schools in the nation in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings. For 2026-27, WHS is ranked #2,165 nationally among nearly 18,000 ranked public high schools and #80 among Ohio high schools. U.S. News evaluates high schools using measures of student achievement, graduation rates, college readiness, college-level curriculum, and performance among underserved students.
College-level learning is an important part of that preparation at WHS. Thirty-eight percent of students participate in Advanced Placement (AP) coursework and exams, meaning nearly four in 10 students take advantage of opportunities to challenge themselves through college-level coursework while still in high school.
This recognition also reflects achievement among a diverse student population. With approximately 28% of students identified as economically disadvantaged, WHS continues to provide every student with access to rigorous academics and opportunities that prepare them for success after graduation.
