WLS Welcomes Ben Sparks as WES Assistant Principal
Wayne Local Schools welcomes Mr. Ben Sparks as the new assistant principal at Waynesville Elementary School.
Mr. Sparks brings 11 years of experience as a K–5 physical education teacher with Fairborn City Schools. Throughout his career, he has developed strong relationships with students, staff, and families while contributing to a positive and supportive school culture.
Relationships are one of the WLS 3Rs and the foundation for trust, belonging, and student success. Mr. Sparks shares these values and understands the important role relationships play in helping every student feel supported and succeed.
His experience extends beyond the classroom. Mr. Sparks has served in building-level leadership roles, supported student behavior and daily school operations, and contributed to teams focused on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, attendance, and school improvement. He is an alumnus of Bowling Green State University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Mr. Sparks also coached high school baseball for seven years, providing another opportunity to mentor young people, build strong teams, and support students’ growth both on and off the field.
He and his wife, Courtney, are proud members of the Waynesville community and recently welcomed their first son, Cooper, on June 28. Outside of school, Mr. Sparks enjoys playing guitar with his church’s worship team, golfing, reading, and cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
He will be a valued addition to the WES team and a strong advocate for every student. Please join us in giving Mr. Ben Sparks a very warm WLS welcome!
