A.L.I.C.E. drill today at 9:00 am for WHS and WMS

Waynesville Middle School and High School will be doing their first A.L.I.C.E. drill today at 9:00 am.  The A.L.I.C.E. program provides the staff and students the best possible options which they can employ in case of a critical incident. It will provide them more options than only locking the door and waiting for rescue. It empowers them to use their natural responses to danger.

Today HS and MS students and staff will talk about what to do beyond locking the doors:
Barricading - High School will remain in lockdown
Evade/Escape - Middle School - middle school students will evacuate to the tennis courts (we will use the Baptist church during an incident)

Throughout the year, we will continue to work with students, staff and law enforcement to ensure the safest possible environment for our students.
