CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS for…

Waynesville Junior High and High School Squads

(Including Football, Basketball, and Competition)  

Cheerleading tryouts for the 2018-19 school year will be held March 12-14, 2018.  Parents of any interested student currently in grades 6-11 should plan to attend an informational meeting on Monday evening, March 12, at 5:30 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. We will be sharing information regarding tryout details, summer camp, football, basketball, and competition cheerleading seasons. *Parents of returning team members who have been involved in the high school cheer program for the 2017-18 school year do not need to attend the meeting on Monday, March 12.

CHEERLEADING TRYOUT WEEK - DATES AND DETAILS  

Monday March 12       

6:00-8:30  - Clinic #1 for students trying out. Students should report to the elementary school gym.

• Middle School Choir/Band Members will participate in concert and then come to clinics at 7:15!

Tuesday March 13                  

7:30-9:00  - Clinic #2  Open gym, to work on all material taught on Monday. Time will also be given to work on jumps and tumbling. We will do a “mock tryout” that evening so all students understand the tryout process.

Wednesday March 14

6:00-8:00 - Tryouts – STARTING AT 6:00 – students may leave once individual tryout is complete. Details TBA tryout week!

Thursday March 15   --  Results are individually communicated to students the weeks of March 26 and April 2

Exit Interviews – Students will sign up for a 15 minute time slot at tryouts.  All students who are selected as members of the 2018-19 cheerleading program must attend an exit interview. 

** Special arrangements will be made for returning team members who are moving on to a spring sport.  We will accommodate a modified clinic schedule and allow them to individually pick their tryout time on Wednesday, March 14!
