RESULTS! Goodwill Drive to Victory - Band Edition

Congratulations to Wayne Locals Schools as they finished the Goodwill Drive to Victory Challenge - Band Edition with a strong finish of over 7,000 pounds (including 2 car donations!!!)  Thank you to all who contributed to this worth cause. 

Both the middle school and high school building each ran classroom contests for the Goodwill Challenge, offering entries into a drawing for each donation. 

A giant thank you to our Middle School Goodwill Drive to Victory Winner Lily Sesslar and High School Winner Kenzie Purkey.  

  THE GOODWILL DRIVE TO VICTORY CHALLENGE ENDS AT NOON TODAY!  

  The Goodwill truck has arrived and is located at the back of the high school parking lot.  

Jason, our Goodwill representative, is ready for your donations!!! 

Receipts are available if you need them.

Drive to Victory has just entered its 12th season and involves 36 area high schools in friendly competition through the Miami Valley.  By partnering with area schools and collecting unwanted items, they have been able to give back over $30,000 to participating schools from their student's general scholarship fund.  

Starting next week, the Goodwill donation trailer will be located in the back high school parking for the week long competition.  Attendants will be on site for collection from Mon, Noon – 7pm, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 8 am – 7 pm and Fri. 8 am – Noon.  Attendants will be ready to answer questions on items we cannot accept for safety reasons, and provide receipts when needed.      

What Can You Donate:  Clothing, shoes, toys, household items, housewares,  jewelry, medical equipment, books, furniture, small working appliances, computers, electronics, cars, trucks, and boats. (**underlined items usually weigh a lot, so the more we have, the better!)                  

Open to the public beginning Monday, Aug 27th at noon, ending Friday, Aug 31st at noon.   

The School Band with the most weight will be declared the winner for that week and receive a $200 scholarship from Arby’s.  The other School Band participating that week will receive a $100 scholarship from Arby’s.

• Your School Band can also receive a bonus by having someone donate a car during the collection period.  If you have a donor who would like to donate a vehicle, have them call 228-AUTO.  Tell the operator the Band name they would like it to qualify for and the Band will receive a 1000-pound bonus.

At the end of the regular High School Band Season, the School Band that collected the most items by weight, during their assigned week, will be declared the Drive to Victory 2018 Champion and will receive an additional $1000.00 scholarship courtesy of Arby’s.
