September is Thyroid Awareness Month

The Thyroid is a small gland located in the base of the neck, and regulates the flow of hormones to many parts of the body, including your heart, brain, liver and kidney.  Because symptoms are so broad, it can be hard to identify, but symptoms include fatigue, weight loss or gain, moodiness, and anxiety.  Women are five times more likely to be affected by disorders of this variety.  The blue paisley ribbon widely signifies support of this disease.   In honor of a treasured staff member who is currently braving this battle, we want to bring awareness to this disease.
