Varsity Volleyball Advances to 2nd Round in Sectionals!

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Georgetown on Tuesday, 25-11, 25-18, 25-15.  Leading the Spartan stat categories were Kenna Harvey with 7 aces and 11 digs, Lydia Vrettos with 25 assists, Kayla Bakker and Megan Zebell had 6 kills each, while Reagan Blanton, Sarah Hartman, and Fallon Bradford contributed with 5 kills each. 

The Spartan Volleyball team will play against Madeira at 12:30pm this Saturday (Oct. 20) at Blanchester High School.

High School Volleyball Teams Both 17-5!!

On Tuesday, the Lady Spartan volleyball teams hosted Dixie for their last league match of the season.  The JV team ended the year undefeated in the SWBL Buckeye Division by sweeping Dixie 25-15, 25-11.  Devin Phillips led the team with 10 aces and also had 2 digs, Lucy Krumholtz had 6 assists and also 2 digs, and Katelyn Case added 4 kills to the win.

The Varsity team also swept the Greyhounds, 25-10, 25-18, 25-14.  This win solidified the League Co-Champion Title for the Varsity team.  Leading the Spartans were Kenna Harvey with 7 aces and 11 digs, Kenzie Purkey with 5 kills (with 0 errors) and 10 digs, Megan Zebell also with 5 kills (with 0 errors), Lydia Vrettos with 21 assists and 2 blocks, and Anna Hapner also with 2 blocks.

The last regular season match was on Wednesday, at home against Cedarville.  The JV lost in 3 sets, 25-20, 25-27, 14-25.  Leading the Spartans were Jenna Turner with 4 aces, Fallon Bradford with 7 kills, Lucy Krumholtz with 9 assists, and Emma Williams with 7 digs.

The Varsity team swept the Indians, 25-13, 25-10, 25-14.  Topping the stats were Kayla Bakker with 4 aces, Anna Hapner with 9 kills, Lydia Vrettos with 15 assists, and Kenna Harvey with 16 digs. 

It was a great Senior Night with 7 fantastic Senior volleyball players.  Kayla Bakker, Reagan Blanton, Leianna Flowers, Sarah Hartman, Kenna Harvey, Morgan Miller and Megan Zebell all played for the last time on our home court.  These young ladies have been committed to this volleyball program for the last 6 years and will be missed by both coaches and teammates.

The Varsity Sectional Tournament starts next Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 at Blanchester High School, with a match against Georgetown.

Volleyball Teams win 3 matches each this week!

On Monday, we hosted Franklin and finished the night with a clean sweep.  JV defeated the Wildcats 25-20, 25-19.  Fallon Bradford had 6 aces, Ryleigh Anderson chalked up 5 kills, and Lucy Krumholtz had 6 assists and 6 digs. 

The Varsity team won 25-13, 25-15, 25-16.  Leading the Spartans were Anna Hapner with 5 aces and 7 kills, Kenzie Purkey also with 7 kills, Lydia Vrettos with 25 assists, and Kenna Harvey with 10 digs. 

Tuesday, the Spartan volleyball teams traveled to Carlisle and brought home 2 more league wins.  JV won 25-15, 25-12.  Topping the stats were Emma Williams with 6 aces and 4 digs, Fallon Bradford with 5 kills, and Lucy Krumholtz with 13 assists and 4 digs. 

Varsity defeated the Indians 25-14, 25-13, 25-13.  Kenna Harvey had 4 aces and 10 digs, Reagan Blanton with 10 kills, and Jenna Turner with 31 assists.

  Thursday was a trip to Preble Shawnee, and 2 more wins.  JV won 25-15, 24-26, 26-24. Leading the Spartans were Fallon Bradford with 7 aces, 12 kills, and 8 digs, Lucy Krumholtz with 14 assists, Kiersten Williams with 6 digs, and Emma Williams with 5 aces. 

The Varsity team won in 3, 25-11, 25-17, 25-18.  Topping the stats were Kenna Harvey with 5 aces and 11 digs, Kenzie Purkey with 13 digs, Lydia Vrettos with 24 assists, and Anna Hapner with 9 kills. 

Next week is the last week of regular season play, with home matches against Dixie on Tuesday and SENIOR night against Cedarville on Wednesday.

Varsity Volleyball is 12-5 (8-1), JV is 13-4 (9-0)

Monday, the volleyball teams traveled to Fairborn and won in 2 sweeps.  The JV team defeated Fairborn 25-23, 25-7.  Stat leaders were Devin Phillips with 9 aces and 4 kills, Gabby Price with 4 kills, Jenna Turner with 4 assists, and Kiersten Williams with 2 digs. 

The Varsity team won in 3, 25-13, 25-23, 25-14.  Leading the Spartans were Megan Zebell and Anna Hapner with 4 aces each, Reagan Blanton and Kenzie Purkey with 9 kills each, Lydia Vrettos with 22 assists, and Kenna Harvey with 11 digs. 

Tuesday, the Spartans took on Milton Union at home.  The JV team won in 2, 25-13, 25-16.  Kiersten Williams chalked up 5 aces and 3 digs, Ryleigh Anderson had 2 kills, and Jenna Turner had 2 assists. 

The Varsity team lost a tough battle in 5 sets, 19-25, 25-17, 25-18, 17-25, 10-15.  Kayla Bakker had 4 aces and 13 kills, Megan Zebell had 3 blocks, Lydia Vrettos had 41 assists, Kenna Harvey had 26 digs, and Kenzie Purkey added 12 kills and 24 digs.

  On Thursday, the teams hosted Madison.  JV won in 3, 25-13, 21-25, 26-24.  Jenna Turner had 10 aces, Fallon Bradford chalked up 9 kills, Lucy Krumholtz had 11 assists and 4 digs, and Kiersten Williams added 4 digs. 

The Varsity team swept the Mohawks, 25-15, 25-21, 25-11.  Topping the Spartan stats were Anna Hapner with 3 aces, 9 kills, and 2 blocks, Megan Zebell with 8 kills, Lydia Vrettos with 32 assists, and Kenna Harvey with 20 digs. 

The Lady Spartan Volleyball teams host Franklin on Monday, travel to Carlisle for a PINK OUT match on Tuesday, and travel to Preble Shawnee on Thursday.

Volleyball Teams are 10-4 (7-0 SWBL)!

Saturday the Spartan Volleyball teams hosted Valley View, and chalked up 2 wins.  The JV team won in 2 sets, 25-17, 25-20.  Topping the Spartans were Emma Williams with 3 aces, Fallon Bradford with 7 kills, Hannah Krumholtz with 5 assists, and Kiersten Williams with 3 digs. 

The Varsity team also swept Valley View, 25-19, 25-17, 25-21.  Leading Waynesville was Reagan Blanton with 10 kills and 2 blocks, Kenzie Purkey with 2 aces and 9 kills, Anna Hapner also with 2 aces, Kenna Harvey with 2 aces and 18 digs, and Jenna Turner with 21 assists. 

  On Monday, the teams traveled to Greeneview, but lost to strong teams.  Spartan JV lost in 2 sets: 9-25, 14-25.  Hannah Krumholtz had 2 aces and 5 assists, Jade Ghanayem had 7 digs, and Gabrielle Price and Devin Phillips had 2 kills each. 

The Varsity team was defeated in 3 sets: 18-25, 19-25, and 20-25.  Heading up the Spartans were Kenna Harvey with 4 aces and 12 digs, Anna Hapner with 9 kills and 3 blocks, Reagan Blanton with 6 kills and 4 blocks, Lydia Vrettos with 20 assists and 11 digs, and Kenzie Purkey also added 11 digs. 

  On Thursday, the Spartans traveled to Northridge and defeated the Polar Bears in a clean sweep.  JV won 25-15, 25-19.  Leading the stats were Hannah Krumholtz with 6 aces and 5 assists, Amaya Dolce with 3 kills, and Kiersten Williams with 3 digs. 

The Varsity scores were 25-11, 25-18, 25-13.  Topping the Spartans were Megan Zebell with 4 aces, Anna Hapner with 9 kills and 4 digs, Lydia Vrettos with 29 assists, Reagan Blanton with 3 blocks, and Kenzie Purkey with 5 digs.   

The Spartan volleyball teams travel to Fairborn on Monday, host Milton Union on Tuesday, and host Madison on Thursday.  JV matches start at 5:30, with Varsity immediately following.

VOLLEYBALL TEAMS ARE 6-2, AND UNDEFEATED IN SWBL!

The Lady Spartan volleyball teams hosted Northridge on Tuesday.  The JV team defeated Northridge in 3 sets, 25-10, 21-25, 25-13.  Leading the Spartans were Devin Phillips with 11 aces, Lucy Krumholtz with 5 assists, Fallon Bradford with 4 kills and 1 block, Amaya Dolce also with 4 kills, and Emma Williams with 3 digs. 

The Varsity team defeated the Polar Bears in 3 sets, 25-12, 25-14, 25-20.  Lydia Vrettos led the team with 6 aces and 21 assists, Anna Hapner with 8 kills, and Kenzie Purkey with 7 kills and 6 digs

On Thursday, the volleyball teams traveled to Milton Union and came home with 2 big victories to continue their undefeated league streak.  The JV team defeated Milton in 3 sets, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21.  Leading the Spartans were Fallon Bradford with 8 aces and 10 kills, Emma Williams with 6 digs, and Lucy Krumholtz with 11 assists. 

The Varsity team beat the Bulldogs in 4 sets, 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, and 25-23.  It was a great team effort…. Anna Hapner chalked up 5 aces and 9 kills, Kayla Bakker also had 5 aces and added 8 kills, Kenzie Purkey had 9 kills, Reagan Blanton had 8 kills, Lydia Vrettos had 31 assists, and the defense was headed by Kenna Harvey with 24 digs and Megan Zebell with 4 blocks. 

Next week, we will host Bellbrook on Monday.  This is our YOUTH NIGHT.  All elementary girls who were involved in our Spring Youth program can wear their t-shirt and get into the match FREE.  We will announce these young volleyballers after the JV match is complete.  JV begins at 5:30. 

Also next week, we travel to Madison on Tuesday and host Carlisle at home on Thursday.

Update:  8-31-2018

Volleyball Teams are 4-2 (2-0 SWBL)

The High School volleyball teams traveled to Monroe on Monday.  The JV suffered their first loss, in 3 sets: 25-18, 12-25, 14-25.  Stat leaders for the team were Jenna Turner with 4 aces and 4 digs, Fallon Bradford with 6 kills, Lucy Krumholtz with 27 assists, and Gabby Price also with 4 digs.

The Varsity team played tough but lost in a hard fought battle against the Hornets: 25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 25-17, and 11-15.  Leading the Spartans were Kenzie Purkey with 14 kills, Anna Hapner with 4 aces, Lydia Vrettos with 37 assists, Kenna Harvey with 25 digs, and Megan Zebell with 4 blocks and 18 digs.

Tuesday was another road trip for a league match against Dixie.  It was a clean sweep for both teams.  JV scores were 25-13, 25-18 and stat leaders were Fallon Bradford with 6 aces and 5 kills, Ryleigh Anderson also with 5 kills, Lucy Krumholtz with 17 assists, and Kiersten Williams with 5 digs.

The Varsity Spartans won 25-10, 28-26, and 25-17.  Topping the stats were Anna Hapner with 4 aces and 14 kills, Lydia Vrettos with 31 assists, Kenna Harvey and Kenzie Purkey with 11 digs each, and Reagan Blanton and Megan Zebell with 2 blocks each. 

Thursday, we hosted Northmont.  JV played a great match, losing closely in 3 sets, 25-15, 21-25, 24-26.  Leading the stats were Fallon Bradford with 17 aces, Devin Phillips with 5 kills, Lucy Krumholtz with 6 assists, and Jenna Turner and Kiersten Williams with 6 digs each. 

The Varsity team defeated Northmont in 3 sets, 25-22, 25-23, 25-14.  Kenzie Purkey had 3 aces, 7 kills, and 17 digs.  Reagan Blanton had 8 kills and 2 blocks, Lydia Vrettos had 26 assists and Kenna Harvey added 16 digs.

  Next week, the volleyball teams host Northridge on Tuesday and travel to Milton Union on Thursday!

Varsity Volleyball starts season out 2-1, JV 3-0!!

On Saturday, Waynesville Volleyball hosted Southeastern in their season opener.  The JV team defeated Southeastern in 2 sets, 25-22, 25-21.  Leading the Spartans were Devin Phillips with 6 aces, Amaya Dolce and Fallon Bradford with 4 kills each, Fallon also added 4 digs, and the setting sisters, Lucy and Hannah Krumholtz, had 4 assists each. 

The Varsity team defeated the Trojans in 3 sets, 25-22, 25-14, 25-14.  Kenna Harvey had 4 aces and 14 digs, Reagan Blanton and Anna Hapner had 9 kills each, Lydia Vrettos chalked up 31 assists, and Megan Zebell contributed 4 blocks.

On Tuesday, the Spartans traveled to Oakwood.  The JV started off slow, but stepped it up to win the match in 3 sets, 20-25, 25-6, 26-24.  Fallon Bradford had 4 aces, 9 kills, 2 blocks, and 4 digs.  Lucy Krumholtz had 4 aces, 8 assists, and 4 digs, and Jade Ghanayem added 4 digs as well. 

The Varsity lost to the Oakwood Lumberjills in 3 sets, 22-25, 17-25, and 10-25.  Reagan Blanton had 5 kills and 3 blocks.  Anna Hapner also added 5 kills, while Lydia Vrettos had 20 assists and Kenna Harvey had 17 digs. 

Thursday, the Spartans hosted Preble Shawnee in the first SWBL League contest of the season.  The JV team won in 2 sets, 25-18, 25-22.  Gabby Price had 6 kills, Jade Ghanayem had 6 aces, Lucy Krumholtz had 10 assists, and Emma Williams chipped in with 4 digs. 

The Varsity team won in 3 sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-17.  Leading the Spartans were Lydia Vrettos with 4 aces and 25 assists, Anna Hapner with 10 kills and 9 digs, Kenna Harvey with 11 digs, and Reagan Blanton and Megan Zebell added 2 blocks each. 

Next week, the volleyball teams travel to Monroe on Monday, Dixie on Tuesday, and host Northmont at home on Thursday.  JV matches start at 5:30, with Varsity match following.
