Waynesville Elementary Will Have 2-Hour Early Release on Wednesday, Sept. 5th

Waynesville Elementary School will be on a two hour early dismissal for Wednesday, September 5, 2018.  This two hour early release is for elementary only.  There will be no afternoon kindergarten or preschool.  High School, Middle School and Warren County Career Center students will run on regular schedules.  Elementary car riders will be released at 1:25 p.m. and bus riders will be released at 1:30 p.m.    At this time, we plan to run the entire district on a normal schedule Thursday and Friday this week.  

It’s picture day in the Elementary and we will take pictures as planned except for afternoon kindergarten and preschool.  Those pictures will be rescheduled for another date. 

On normal heat days we move our students to cool zones throughout the campus and this typically helps us beat the heat.  However, today seemed different after multiple days of hot weather.  The building has not had the chance to cool off and the building was hot from the start of the day. 

In anticipation of another very hot day, we believe an early dismissal is the correct decision.
