2025 Spartan Hall of Fame Inductees Honored
On September 20, WHS proudly hosted the 22nd Induction Ceremony for the Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame. The celebration began Friday night, as the newest inductees were recognized at halftime of the home football game, receiving well-deserved applause from the Spartan community. On Saturday morning, the event continued with a warm breakfast and social hour in the PAC Lobby, followed by a moving ceremony led by Larry Nelson in the PAC Auditorium.
The Class of 2025 was officially welcomed into the Hall of Fame, honoring outstanding athletes and teams whose dedication and achievements have left a lasting impact on Spartan Athletics.

Carly Matulewicz (Allen) – Class of 2015
Brooke Click (Lezotte) – Class of 2016
Special Inductees
- Coach Steve York (1992–Current) – Recognized for his decades of leadership and commitment to Spartan athletics.
- 2000–01 Boys Basketball Team – Honored as District Champions, Regional Semifinalists, and the furthest any boys basketball team has advanced in OHSAA tournament history at Waynesville.

The Hall of Fame inductees are chosen by the Waynesville Athletic Hall of Fame Committee. Nominations are accepted year-round, with the requirement that athletes must have graduated from WHS at least eight years prior to the induction year. The next class of inductees will be celebrated in 2027.
