2026-27 Kindergarten Information Meeting - Thursday, February 12

*Beginning in March, 2026, Ohio law (Ohio Revised Code 3321.01) will use a single, statewide kindergarten age requirement. To enroll in kindergarten, a child must be five years old on or before the first day of instruction. 

For Waynesville Elementary School (WES), that means children who turn five on or before August 21, 2026, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2026–27 school year. Enrollment will open soon. If your child’s birthday falls after August 21, 2026, they will need to wait to start kindergarten the following year.

Parents of incoming kindergartners can attend the WES Kindergarten Information Meeting on February 12 at 6 p.m. in the WES Cafeteria.

These steps can be followed to begin the process of getting your child set for school: 

• Complete this Google Form - https://tinyurl.com/a5ehkp5h - This is not a registration form. It relays basic information to Waynesville Elementary School staff, including your contact information.

• Attend the Kindergarten Information Meeting on February 12, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the WES Cafeteria.

• Access FinalForms - https://waynelocal-oh.finalforms.com/students - to begin registration for your child on February 13 or before March 3, 2026.

• Attend registration night on either March 10 or March 11 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the WES Cafeteria. Your child is not registered until all documents are submitted.

Please note:

• Kindergarten screening sign-ups will be scheduled on registration night.
• AM/PM placement information will be emailed to parents the first week of June.
• Teacher information will be shared the first week of August via email to parents.
• More information will be provided regarding the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment.
